The members of Little Women liken themselves to four valves of the same heart animated by the electricity of their combined spirits and the unified goal of creating one sound.  Collectively they have worked with such prominent composer/improvisers as Jim Black, Anthony Braxton, Mark Dresser, Trevor Dunn, Michael Formanek, George Garzone, Gerry Hemingway, Steve Lacy, Dave Leibman, Joe Lovano, Mat Maneri, Joe Morris and Matt Wilson, but in this ensemble they forgo all individualism in order to speak in a single, continually evolving voice.

Built from shards of influences ranging from bebop to free jazz, math metal to punk rock and pop music to harsh noise, the group’s trademark sound relies on like-minded compositions by all of its members, which are then organically and democratically shaped by the collective.  “Little women doesn’t want to be a band that can be categorized by who’s in it or who’s not in it,” they explain, “but simply by the music that is created between these four musicians in the now.”
